Keymaster...these were grown local.. not by us, but a very good friend, we used a bushel of pickles this time, we only do this everyother year, but around her is amish country we have no trouble getting pickles...you can break that recipe down for what ever amount you want...
Are these sweet or dill or what.
Quick question... on days 11,12 and 13, are you adding a cup and a half of sugar each day? Also, do you need to add any liquid to make up for evaporation, etc?
Thanks, Randy

Randy... on the 11 12 and 13 you are adding 1 1/2 cups of sugar just like on the 10th and no you do not add water because of evaporation..you are adding more sugar everyone of these days..

Then those are truly 'sweeeet' pickles!
Thanks
Ghost,
We used to do these all the time when I was a kid. Just got my dad's old crocks, and just waiting for retirement to do em. One question. My parents always used lump Alum, instead of the powder. But I can't find that for the life of me anywhere. Which are you using.
