I just received my new OBS the other day after many weeks of waiting...Thursday morning, I assembled the smoker and then seasoned it for a little over an hour. After that I ran as fast as I could down to the local Costco ( all right, I took the car....but I ran from the parking lot ::) Once I got home, I unwrapped my baby backs and seasoned them up with some Cahoot's House Rub and sent them into the fridge over night.(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee368/ccfdmike/Smoker%20Pictures/DSCF0082.jpg)(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee368/ccfdmike/Smoker%20Pictures/DSCF0083.jpg) I took the ribs out after 3 hours with some hickory(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee368/ccfdmike/Smoker%20Pictures/DSCF0088.jpg)
I then foiled them up with a splash of apple juice and then back into the smoker for another hour. After an hour, out they came for a generous slathering of home made sauce.(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee368/ccfdmike/Smoker%20Pictures/DSCF0087.jpg)
Back into the OBS for another hour and then out for a brief second to rest.(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee368/ccfdmike/Smoker%20Pictures/DSCF0087.jpg)
Now it's time to plate it up with some wedge cut fries and baked beans....Couldn't wait for the beans to take the picture. All in all, I think everything went well for the first try out the gate. Kept a log of everything and hopefully will become more proficient with time. Can't wait for next weekend!(http://i1224.photobucket.com/albums/ee368/ccfdmike/Smoker%20Pictures/DSCF0089.jpg)

Hey. What happened to the pics. ;D
Well with what you describe, it sure sounds like you had some killer ribs...would be nice if we could see them...
Not sure what the problem is. I've seen the pics on 3different computers. Any ideas?
really nice ribs partner. 1st time out is a touchdown. good job..... 8)
Thank you. I'm just glad somebody else besides me could see the pictures! ;D
Ghost,
I had to mess around with the settings on photobucket, but hopefully that solved the problems with the photos not showing up. I guess it was just too much to learn in one weekend ??? First the smoker, ribs, photobucket and then posting. I might have to take the rest of the week off and rest up for this next weekend :D
Oh, heck yeah! Looks pretty darn tasty!
Thanks! Wasn't sure what to expect for the first time out. I really loved how they came out, and my wife loved them even more. Just a tad too much salt in the rub, though. Have to work on less salt and more spice!
Good looking ribs. And the fact your wife likes them is a big plus.
Well I don't know what happened, but today I can see the pictures and the ribs look killer...

It's Monday, you sobered up ;D
Them is some might fine looking ribs Mike. It won't be long and you will have this whole thing figured out. You know your getting close when you come to the dinner table and the family asks "Have you taken pictures yet so we can eat? Were HUNGRY!!"
Ghost,
I think I had a private box checked in the photobucket that wouldn't allow me to export the pictures. When I went back and checked, I undid the checked box and resubmitted the pictures and all seemed to work out! Another lesson learned ::)

Ribs look awesome! 8)

Tenpoint5.
It's funny that you should mention that about the pictures. I started getting interested in the smokers from some of the firemen at work. The more I saw, the more I liked. I found the Bradley site and almost instantly became addicted to all of the information and pictures. By the time my smoker actually arrived, I all ready knew that I was going to keep a journal and take pictures of all the steps along the way. My wife thought it funny that I would get so involved with this because I really haven't been much for the chat/post stuff. However, the people here are so warm and the information is shared so freely that you really can't help but get involved/excited with everything! Thanks for all that you share and do :D
Mike
Mr. Walleye,
Thanks! Was a bunch to figure out in one weekend. Can't wait for the next one :)
Great job Mike. I thought your pics were great :D and your plate was a beauty. Cahoots is the name of a fantastic catering service here in Paso Robles, Ca. Could this be the same as the seasoning you used?

Sure is! We have a house a Nacimiento that we go up to every other month. Stopped by one of the wineries and picked up some. I think it was a winery....
The food from Cahoots catering is awsome. I have their cookbook which is great and I have made many of their appetizers and side dishes, which have been delicious---- goes with a lot of good smoked meat. Have fun with your new smoker.

Do you live in Paso or near by?
OK Mike, looks like you have the ribs down, what's your next smoking venture?
I live on a ranch about 12 miles South of Paso Robles, the adjacent little town is Creston.
