AS A REMINDER FOR EVERYONE
Basic Iron Chef rules:
Be creative on your recipes.
It can be as simple as a new ABT or a recipe that would take a snooty waiter in a fancy-schmancy restaurant 10 minutes to describe.
At least 80% of the cook time must be done in the Bradley Smoker, grill or other outdoor cooking method. Up to 20% of the cook time can be done on the stove, oven.
Use any spices or pre-made BBQ sauces, or other goodies as you wish.
The recipe is not limited to just the 3 main ingredients. Your pantry is open and anything is fair game to be used in your recipe. As long as the meat and two other ingredients are in one dish. IE...one bite gets all three ingredients.
It can be breakfast, brunch, lunch, or supper, or midnight snack.
The Ingredients:
Olives
Mac & Cheese
Chuck Roast
The turn in date for your recipe and pictures of how you made it will be 9/16 - 9/19 and voting will be 9/19 - 9/23.

No way, don't change the process. You just keep doing what you have been. I am not the most creative person around and when you get ingredients I can work with I will jump in. This contest works fine as it has been and it is so much fun even to sit back and watch you folks throw tea bags and insults. ;D I only commented because I can't wait to join the fun but if the ingredients don't inspire me to come up with something that is my problem. I don't want to see any tensions caused by my comment .

Cause Nobody else will play in the smack talk game!! You and I have been doing this back and forth thing for a long time. We have fun with it and we both know that the other is doing that, just having fun.
For those watching from the sidelines. Tracy and I really are friends. Just when the ICB comes around I tend to pick on her in public like older brothers and younger sisters do. (Although she is a LOT older than I am!!! ;D) I do know that she is an accomplished cook and probably will beat me when the voting is finished.
The whole purpose of the smack talk thread is to have some fun and pass the time until the turn-in date.

Since NOTHING has been heard from the Great Sand Dunes of California. I was going to close down the thread at midnight. However in all fairness I have been asked to wait until Monday Morning to close the turn-in and start the voting. I guess I need a reason to sleep in. the turn in date does say the 19th which is today - I think you should keep it open at least all day in all fairness. Maybe you should post a time for closing it in future if you are not going to keep it open until midnight of the day posted.

It does say that you have until the 19th for turn in. It also says that the voting will start on the 19th as well. In the previous 8 ICBs we have generally ended the turn in on The morning of the last day. Started the voting That same day.
However I am curious and since I have been called on this. I will make it quite simple. Any posting in the turn in thread made after midnight WILL NOT be considered in the voting process. That sound fair enough?
Other than setting a designated time zone for midnite you have been very fair.

I completely agree. However we have never been sticklers with any of the rules in this whole thing. I myself dont want to start doing that now. Technically the cooking should have been completed by last Friday and the posting should have occurred over the weekend. This isn't a big deal just means there will be one less day of voting on this ICB. The voting is usually completed by Friday morning and when I announce the winner I generally try to remember to lock the voting thread so that no new votes may be cast after that point in time.
Well I haven't decided on whom to give my winning vote to yet but I think I have it narrowed down to two? But my Miss (Mrs., Mr.) Congeniality vote has been decided hands down, and let's just say "Roll Tide"! ;D

Well, it's after midnight Central Time so I guess it's over and I can check out the submissions. Funny, I thought there would be (one) more. Must be another major power outage on the west coast. Oops - just saw the deadline has been extended for a few hours so I guess there will be more. Anyway, I'm impressed with the "early" entries.
I gotta say, however, that only one had a preponderance of ingredients I favor and pretty much the maximum amount of mac and cheese I could eat without exhibiting too much repugnant behavior. I'll definitely have to try a copycat version (less the mac and cheese) of that one and might even watch a 'Bama game while I'm consuming it.
