Title: How long? Smoke to Oven cooking
Post by: TrippingBilly on November 21, 2011, 05:51:13 AM
I apologize if this is a duplicate but after searching the posts, I wasn't able to get the answer to my questions but I'm confident it's out there...

I plan on smoking the bird for 3 hours and then finishing it up in the oven.  How long should I allot for the process?  Also, if I were going to smoke then entire bird to the IT of 165, how long would that take?  If I did the later, could I then pop it in the oven at high temp for 10-20 minutes to crisp up?

Thanks, TB

I'm kind of wondering too -- Can you smoke for 2 hours and then no matter what the tempeture is, put it in your oven or on a grill to get it to 165? I'm wondering if it matters that you go from probably 225 in the smoker for 2 hours then to something hotter. Want to avoid any turkey aids
