Here's what I got, a couple spice boxes from Penzeys spices along with a catalog so I can order more ;D plus both boxes come with a bunch of receipes. The BBQ & Broil box also came with cinnamon sticks, dried bay leaves and I think hazel nuts? A large bottle of "Smoking Gun" jerky marinade, Some of ragweed's home made jerky cut just like his dad use to do (cant wait to get into this...) Also, ragweed included a bunch of jerky receipes that I cant wait to play with. Plus a bottle of of volcanic peppers in case I want to kick it up a notch. Witch I will do, love hot and spicy. You'll notice the center of the yellow spice box there is a pin that you can attach to your shirt or what ever. Also the tie die cloth you see also came in the yellow spice box. Well, I didn't even have everything unpacked and my wife already claimed those two things. She actually grabbed them and started to walk away until I told here I need to take pictures. :o :o :o
Although their calling for 19 degrees this weekend, I can "almost" see myself cooking outside, 19 is pretty cold....

edit: Had a chance to taste the sauces. All very good. Not sure if you knew I liked hot stuff, but I love it, and these are pretty hot, with a lot of flavor too. I might have to dig up some pork chops to grill.

That bacon hot sauce is awesome. Goes good on everything. As for the rub, it's good on everything as well and its "heathers butt rub" Don't ask how I know. We'll just say the first time I met heather was a little rough. :o :o :o

Oh, I know about the horseradish cheese, I just smoked ten pounds for some guys at work last Saturday along with 15 pounds of Cooper. Those are the two most popular cheeses I smoke and I do over 100 pounds a year. This piece of horseradish will be mine, I just ran out and it is more than enough for me. :)
Thunder Jack, I have not had time to read all the packages yet, I'm guessing its a kind of pepper jack? I do know it is all going in the smoker probably tomorrow morning. I'll taste each of them before smoking then a week or two after smoking. It's nice to know what a kind of cheese tastes like before smoking it first.
So how did your wife like the smoked Cooper and pepperoni I put in with your gift? I was going to put a bigger piece in but the bigger ones just came out of the smoker on Sat. and I want them to sit before giving them to anyone. So I gave you what I had in the fridge.

Now I'm going to have to get into the snack stick game after Christmas for sure. Hopefully I'll shoot a big hog soon so I can make some jerky rounds with the jerky mixes. Yeah the miata had to go so we got a 2014 mazda cx5. Bigger for more smoker hauling, HA. Looking at a tandem tow dolly with room for a golf cart to pull behind the rv.
Robert, Just to warn ya, that Cooper stuff is terrible and that bacon/jalapeno stuff has cooper in it as well. Just to be safe wrap it up and store it in a cool place till I can properly dispose of it. ::) ;D Great gift from one great couple to another. :)

As indicated earlier today I pulled in the driveway after work and spied a suspicious looking box on the front porch.
Upon further inspection I was happy to find the porch still in one piece, whew I was scared for a moment
Looked over the package and didn't hear any ticking so I felt safe opening it. Checked the return address and discovered it came from some far off fantasy land called Alaska.
Inside were some cool (hat and apron), and rather interesting (skeeter trap) gifts.
Thank you for the sauce both smell wonderful, I've always wanted to sample Jan's rub and now I have some. The pepper mill is absolutely beautiful almost afraid to use it, lol.
My wife (Renee) loves the jam she opened it as soon as I took it out of the box and showed it to her.

WOW, lots of great stuff everyone. I finally got into ragweed's jerky he sent me. Man this stuff is great! I have it stowed away (what's left anyway) at work. I'll probably finish it off tomorrow for breakfast knowing me. ;D Cant wait to try my hand at my own.

Thank you very much Paul (viper125) With the Bear Paws I can now lift and pull the pork shoulders without fear of burning my fingers, other than when snatching a taste. Haven't had the Carolina Treet sauce before so am looking forward to trying it out. The Bad Byron's will be put to good use also.

That is too cool! Glad you like it. We have one too and I use it on special occasions. Be sure to try the Texas champagne and the Texas kicker. They are my "go to" hot sauces to bring any dish to life. And the Hell on the Red is great right out of the bottle with tortilla chips or mixed in some re-fried beans or velveeta cheese to give them a little kick. Dang I'm making myself hungry ;D

It is so much fun to try flavors form other areas. We will start off with the honey tomorrow in our tea and I think that my wife has a batch of Pike thawed in the fridge. And here's the meat mixer he sent me! Great workmanship! Powered by a 1/2 " drill (not included LOL) Attach the blade one way to mix, reverse to emulsify. So cool! Plus, enough seasoning for 15 lbs of summer sausage!

I received my box today from Gafala and his family in Washington. I received two boxes of bisquettes. A very nice set of earrings that are beautiful. A big bottle of Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce. (Which I really like). A package of Instacure #1. A big container of Hickory Smoked Almonds which we are sharing. They are very delicious. And Madagascar Vanilla Bean Sugar, Vanilla Fleur De Sel and Bourbon Vanilla Extract. These are very thoughtful gifts. Thanks to you and your family. Apple Butter is awesome, in fact I used the last jar my mom made at thanksgiving. It is great in stuffed pork chops too. Nice tin of Asian rub. Have to try it on some pulled pork or maybe corned beef for a different spin.
