Title: Original Bradley Smoke Generator Operation
Post by: Otdrzman on May 16, 2014, 05:13:26 AM
I ordered a original smoke generator for a build that I am planning. Haven't received it yet. This is probably a silly question but how does the generator know when to stop trying to advance pucks and to turn the puck burner off? Will the puck burner only heat up with pucks on the tray? Thanks

If its an original then the minute you turn it on it heats up, the burned stays on until you turn it off. The puck advance has a 20min cycle time on it, if you hit the puck advance button it moves the next puck regardless of the time, this also resets the 20min cycle.

When the pucks run out the pusher won't have anymore pucks to push but it will continue to cycle anyways, until you turn it off.

Thanks. I was thinking that was gonna be the case.

Also if you want to rig it so the generator will shut off automatically so you don't have to attend to it; you can plug it into a timer (sometimes called an appliance timer).

I thought about going that route but went ahead and ordered a timer from Auber Instruments to control it. Thanks for the info.
