Title: Storage for muscle meat jerky???
Post by: mwilliams7967 on July 29, 2015, 07:48:52 PM
What is the safest way to store whole meat jerky? I've seen posts where it says in a air tight glass jar in a refrigerator. Is the fridge necessary? Just looking for suggestions/ideas! Thanks in advance!

If it is a quantity that was cured and will be consumed fairly quickly it can be left in a jar or a ziplock bag on the counter.  I leave the bag or jar open so that it doesn't condensate.  The moisture will cause it to begin spoiling quicker.  The moisture in the frig will cause the same.  If it is a large quantity I would vac seal it and freeze it until you are going to consume it.

Others more knowledgeable than me will come along with better advice.
