Title: Hello From Winnipeg
Post by: cherrybergher on May 25, 2016, 07:49:51 PM
My family got me the BDS 4 rack for father's day (in advance) so that I could be ready for the big day by doing a pork butt.  Is that a good choice for my first attempt? any advice or suggestions welcome.
Thanks!!

That's a great choice for your first smoke. Pork butt is very forgiving cookingwise (is that a word? If not I just invented it :o). Make sure you allow enough time for the whole cook. If it finishes early, you can always FTC it. (foil, towel, cooler) It'll stay hot for hours.
