Title: Pucks not advancing
Post by: RJR1876 on March 05, 2007, 08:07:57 PM
Dear smokers,

Out of sudden, my digital smoker has this problem, it's not advancing the puck when I push the advance button. A few seconds later, an "E" error code will appear and beeping. Took the generator apart and found out that the motor was tight. Is this the problem??? or do you guys have any other recommendation?  Thanks.

Regards,
Tai

Not sure,  Guessing you cleaned it up good when it was taken apart.  Also not advancing automaticly at 20 minute intervals?

E01 with beeping is often related to the small cord to the back of the generator tower from the smoke generator.

Unplug and plug in the small cord several times as though you want to exercise the connector and you may have it fixed.

Dear smokers,

Well, it's an "E" not "E1" error code. Test the connection to the motor, and it seems that no current was sent when the advance button was pressed. Wonder if the relay is gone??? Can I connect the motor directly to a wall outlet to see if it will turn???

Tai

Dear smoker,

Just realised that "E" error code is shown when the rotating arm does not touch the limit switch within a limited amount of time after a signal is sent to the motor. Guess this is sort of a safety feature in case the arm is jammed. Hopefully the fault is the relay controlling the motor, as I can't find any current being sent to the motor, and no audible click from the relay when the "advance" button is pressed. Will replace it tomorrow...and pls pray for me  ;)

Tai

It is a digital --- should still be under warranty.  Call Bradley and they will likely replace your Generator with no need to return the old one.

Sorry for the delay...I have the problem fixed. It's indeed the relay controlling the puck pusher. Changed it and bravo....thank for all of your advices.

Tai
