Looks like a fine lunch. Iowa still has something going for it.  I spent a week there prior to new years eve. Was a good visit  but no pork tender loin.  :(

I ate many of those as a boy growing up in Iowa. However, there is only one place in Oklahoma where I have found them and it is about 3 hours away. Bummer.

That sure looks good.....best one I ever had was from a place down near Vallonia, IN.  Can't think of the name of the place right now though.

Hey O,

You are correct, sir!  I have a really good friend down there.  Actually got to hook up with him last year and do some duck hunting.  That is the place he took me to after we got done.

Scrumptious was the word that came to mind.  In fact, if I hadn't thought I'd look like a pig I would have had a second.  Actually, I think it was the 4.5 hour drive getting home that caused me not to eat a second (I really don't mind looking like a pig  ;D)

Boy those sandwiches look good.  Unfortunately I've never been to the Midwest.  Found the site below that has some great pork shots.  I think I gained a few pounds just watching the slide show -

Talked to a guy once about a restaurant that went out of business but was always packed with people.  He said it was from mis-management.  The amount of business doesn't guarantee success.  The ones I can't figure out are the restaurants that never have people in them (and not from bad food), yet stay open for years.  Location and customer base can make a differenct as well.  There was a frozen yogurt shop in Carmel Mountain that was doing a great business and was always busy.  The owner got upset at a rent increase and moved the business several miles away to a location in Poway and his customer base did not follow.  The center he went into was small and only had a Wall Mart and a couple other little stores.  He went out of business in 6 months.

Could be a number of reasons but my favorite is that it is usually a money-laundering operation for organized crime  8)

I myself had my very first Amish Pork tenderloin sammich today for lunch.  Not bad, but not even near big enough in my estimation.  I like it when I have to use 3 hands to hold the thing (wow, that didn't come out the way I had intended  :o)
