Title: vacuum sealed smoked fish
Post by: dortman on March 01, 2008, 01:09:48 PM
How long do you think vacuum sealed smoked fish will last in the refrigerator? It was previously frozen fish, caught last summer, thawed, brined, smoked, and then vacuum sealed.

Thanks!
Dave

If it was hot smoked I'd say around two weeks. Cold smoked I'd use it up in a week or so. Just me so take a stab at it. Mine doesn't last that long anyhow. The smoke and brine help to keep it longer than fresh but not too much longer.

I agree with Iceman, I tend to re-freeze straight away in such situations.  :)
