My Bradley OBS SS just arrived. Brian at Yard & Pool got me set up real nice and a huge thank you to Yard and Pool. ;D
I knew this was a nice smoker, but wow, this thing is really built well. Haven't seasoned it yet. Thats going to be the hardest part because I'm gonna be real tempted to toss in a piece of meat :-\
Got some hickory and apple wood pucks along with some bubba pucks.
Yard and Pool tossed in a few extra goodies. Thank you very kindly. You got my business for life! :)
Congrats Stargazer! ;)
Bryan at Yard & Pool is a great guy to do business with for sure. Keep us posted on your projects!
Mike
Congrats Stargazer!
Us Kentucky boys have got to stick together. I know you can't wait to fire that thing up but resist the urge to throw meat in on the break in session. :D
Can't wait to see what you smoke first. More hickory smoke!!!

Hickory is the only way to go :D
Use apple sometimes for pork loin or chicken. Was thinking of trying out a brisket with recipe posted here on the forum. Only thing is, no offence WTS, but my dad and uncle are not big fans of mesquite so I was thinking of smoking in apple maybe?
Then again, hard to beat pork shoulder smoked in hickory :)
Yep, Bryan and Yard and Pool are top-notch. They'll always have my business!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Bradley smokers, Stargazer!
SD
+1 ;)
Congrats Stargazer!!!
If ya need someone to try out your first 100 smokes, I'm da man. :D

Just to add, I called Bradley's number to see if I could register the warranty over the phone instead of mail it in.
I never doubted anyone here on the forum, but everyone was right. 10+ gold stars. Very kind and helpful service.
Asked where it was purchased, told them very happily at Yard and Pool.
Its going on 6am here and I'm so tempted to toss something in to smoke up right now. Got some chicken breasts, but I'll wait until the butcher opens, pick out something special for me and my father, let it marinade and stuff then do it up right. But it's tough waiting now :P

For sure. Just kidding around. Variety is the spice of Life. only use one type of wood, one rub, one brine... NOT
You will love your stainless smoker. I just got mine last week and I have already used it twice! I just picked up some Hickory today, and Im thinking about either doing a roast this weekend.
Smoke it up!
Sorry everyone, my apologies, I was so *
bleepin* excited last night '
also doing shots of Wild Turkey with dad to welcome the new addition to the family being the Bradley ;) ' I forgot to show a picture of it.

I don't know if I opened the damper enough on top, but it seemed not to hurt it. It was smoking pretty good even though it didn't show on the picture. Got alot of real heavy cold winds here right now.
This might sound kind of dumb, but I'll say it anyway...
I love my SS/OBS so much... I named her Marie, after the Johnny Rivers version of the song Memphis... just kind of brings back alot of old good memories, and like the song, the only one I want to be with. Ya'll can rib me about that one; I named my electric slicer Maybelline after the Johnny Rivers version of that song because shes so true...
Ok, I can be a bit goofy I guess :-[
But anyway, that's Marie being seasoned and welcomed into the family. 8)

Brother, I won't go into details, but right now there's a huge downer going on in the family which has my father very down for the holidays for the past month.
I just showed him your post and it was literally the first time he laughed, '
I mean hard core deep down belly laugh' in about a month. Before tonight, he hasn't even smiled once for this certain family matter ordeal.
He wanted me to say, which I will agree with... you guys 'and gals' here on this forum rule and are the best! :)
Thank you for the friendship to everyone here :D
Hey Starman...give my best to Dad...if he laughs at us...well that makes us happy!!
I'm naming my smoker Bubba...a good friend that has never failed me...I'm from Florida...and I love nicknames!! So Bubba is my boy!!!
My favorite kitchen tool is Tracie ;) :o ;D
Yes, that's my wife and in the kitchen, she is a complete tool ;D
Hey Walleye Man, can you get that shovel ready? Hee Hee!
And before you go off full-bore on me, LQ, the wifey is already on board with this description! Please keep the tea bags back ;) ;D

Sorry SD... I need it for snow removal right now! :D
Mike
I'm feeling ya, Mike. Is there ice on the water up there and do you fish for walleye through the ice up there in the frozen tundra?
SD
No comment duck, but you would be lucky if it were just a tea bag :)
Sorry, Deb. I'm not really as bad as I try to sound. But, when you're down as far as I am, you do anything you can to try and add anything to spice up your life a little ;D
Duck,
No need to be sorry. Just funning. I can tell that you guys are good... :)

You bet! I haven't been out yet but I understand there's enough ice on a number of lakes now. Hopefull I'll get out during the holidays. I doubt before... I'm trying to get a number of things smoked so I'm prepared for the "outlaws"! Between that and work... there's not enough time in the days! Oh well... It's all good! ;)

Let's see, lake + ice = makes it hard to get my fly down to any depth even with a weighted line. I don't don't know how ya'll up there fish through a little bitty ole hole in the ice! Bet it's fun though!
It's pretty fun, to tell the truth, especially if you've got a heated shanty. If you've seen Grumpy Old Men (which pretty much describes me and Mr. Walleye), that's how I'm used to doing it. If it's halfway decent outside, don't even need a shanty. One of the funner things you can do on ice with your clothes on :o ;D
Started smoking the pork loin. Will post pictures of it in meat section soon.
I used 6 pucks of apple for 2 hours of smoke. Being my first smoke, may I ask, do yall think that's to much or not enough. I do recall you don't want to do a constant smoke the whole time and figured 2 hours should be enough.
That's a good start, Stargazer. Get a feel for it and the next time you might decide you like a little stronger or less strong flavor. Or, you may decide that's perfect.
Thanks a million SD
BTW, I used your recommendation and water pan is filled with Motts apple juice. Also injected the loins with apple juice before rubbing down.
Ill post all this in meat section in a few
Thanks :)
No problem at all, SG. Looking forward to the pics! Can't go wrong with apple and pork, IMO.

I'm just glad you weren't talkin about me Giggles....Mrs Tracie Giggles is way better!!! :D
No way, Q..........don't want no tea bags slung my way! ;D
