This plug effectively closes the circuit, fooling the generator into thinking that the sensor cord is connected.

I often  thought about trying this but thought cream cheese would be to soft.
So the way it sounds you do not have to let it sit wrapped in frig for a month? Am I right on this?

Hot Smoking and Barbecuing / Re: Determining time and temp ...

Congrats on your first post and welcome! It sounds like you're on the right track. The stall can happen at different internal temps, sometimes even lower than the usual 160-170°F range, so wrapping at 149°F isn't unheard of. Wrapping during the stall helps retain moisture and push through the stall quicker, but it won't necessarily make the meat tender if it hasn't hit the target internal temp for tenderness, which for chuck roast is typically around 195-205°F. It could be that it just needed more time to break down the connective tissue. Also, double-check the ambient temp readings, as inconsistent temps can affect the cook. Hope that helps! Let us know how the next one turns out!

Quote from: Aly on July 24, 2024, 03:32:22 PMI have an electric Bradley Smoker 4 rack about 2 years old.

The puck advance button and oven temp buttons don't seem to work.

I can press the oven temp and up and down arrows nothing happens.

I turn the smoke on and it does the puck advance but pushing the puck advance does nothing !

The up and down arrows work for time settings.
Any guidance appreciated there is no error codes !
I think the issue with your Bradley Smoker 4 rack is likely a faulty control board.
There are two fuses on the control board. Check them to see if they are blown. If they are, replace them.
Make sure all the connections to the control board are secure. If they are loose, tighten them.
Try resetting the control board by unplugging the smoker from the power outlet and then plugging it back in.

Introduce Yourself / Re: P10 Biscuit feeder turntab...

I tried several recommendations since getting my P10 with varying degrees of success.

I've found that some bisquettes might have a small ridge on them that can catch and get hung up @ the bottom of the tube. You should be able to feel it and possibly remove it with your fingertip.
What has worked for me is gently rubbing them together to grind off the ridges a bit, you'll lose a small amount of wood but not a lot

Good luck !

Introduce Yourself / P10 Biscuit feeder turntable j...
Last post by Michaels Place - October 05, 2024, 01:58:49 PM
After 10 years of using the Bradley 6-rack smoker, I upgraded to the new P10 model. I must admit, I was not impressed with the build quality. While the P10 does address temperature fluctuations, the "set it and forget it" tagline seems to have been sacrificed. My P10 has yet to complete a smoke without at least one biscuit jamming when it drops down on the turntable. I've read about the turntable slightly rotating and the need for new biscuits that haven't been exposed to temperature and humidity differentials, but it seems that many other users are also facing the same problem. This leads me to believe that it's a Bradley design flaw.

What are the rest of you doing to resolve this issue???

Here is what I did to add another element.  It does struggle when the unit is loaded up.

I use the lines controlling the stock elements to drive a relay to turn on the added element. I used some conduit hangers to mount the new element.  They are screwed to the deflector plate. The keeps the element from moving around.  I need to fine some stainless hangers to replace the ones I used.

I set it for the max and it reached the max and stayed within 1% in testing.  Now to put a large hunk of meat in there for the real test.

I can't drop a picture in...
