Looking to see if anyone has made a cart to move around there smoker? I'm looking for ideas to build one for my smoker.

I live in a area where I can't leave the smoker outside without it "growing legs" and disappearing the next day. Would love to see what you guys have come up with to make this digital smoker "portable" and/or "mobile".

Hi Gsxr1k and welcome to the forum. I started using an old bedroom night stand for a couple of years, mounted 4 casters so it rolls in and out of the garage. Found it a tad too low and then the Bradley Butcher fold-able cart went on sale so I purchased it and have been using it ever since. Works like a charm, nice and solid and just the right height.

I use an old black and Decker tool cabinet. Holds my cooking tools, racks pucks, etc... Looks just the one in the link.

Hope this helps with your ideas.

Thanks for the idea... Looks kind of cool.. Maybe more functional/portable if I put some pneumatic tires on it.

Hi Gsxr1k,

Welcome to the forum.

If you have a Sam's club card, or know someone who has a card, they sell a good cart, for around $60.

It does rust, but I've had mine for over 14 years. One shelf is a basket, and the directions state to use that for the top shelf. If you put the basket shelf on top it will interfere with opening the door of the smoker, so you will need to placed that as the second shelf. Because it is a wire shelf, I did cut a piece of plywood to fit on the shelf to give the legs of the smoker a more stable surface. All four wheel swivel, making it easy to maneuver the chart.

I have the same cart as Habs.  It works well.

Hi there. I bought a rolling tool cart from harbor freight and flipped the tool table over. I reinforced it with a couple of 2 x 4's. It has a drawer in front for my meat thermometer and gloves.

Is there enough clearance on the top rack to open the door of the smoker?

No. Not unless you prop it up higher with 2x4's it may raise it high enough to open the door. But that could make the smoker unstable when you move it around. You have to assemble the cart anyway, so it would be better to place the basket shelf as the second self.
