Hi Folks,

I purchased a new 4 rack Bradley last month.  I've smoked 5 different items and continue to learn.  Brisket, chicken (twice), prime rib and pork loin.  It's not perfect but I'm confident that I will improve.

Many recipes out there use Wood chips.  Has anyone ever calculated the conversion of wood chips to pucks? Is it simply weight? ???

Happy to see this pretty informative forum for Bradley users!

Cheers,
Andre

In my opinion there is no conversion as the smoking technique is very different and 20 minutes of smoke from wood chips would not be the same as 20 minutes of smoke from wood chips whether it be 10 lbs of chips or 1 lb of chips for 20 minutes.

Try taking a estimated guess on conversion.  4 hours being the maximum amount of smoke you would typically put on any product like ribs, pork butt, brisket.  20 minutes being the least (or none, well not really)... ;)  Start with an hour or two on smaller dishes or thin cuts of meats like jerky and poultry.  Then adjust to taste on your next attempt to find your individual taste levels.
