Turkey Question

Yeah even i have a smoking question  :D

I am going to smoke a 24lb turkey in the smokehouse. I was going to wrap it in cheesecloth or old t-shirt and hang it. Ya think it would get enough smoke?

I am going to brine for 12 hours before smoke.

I would suggest using a Ham net to hang your bird in. The you also get the perty little lines on your bird. I have a couple good brines if your interested give me a call.

This reminds of a question I was going to ask the other day...    Butterball/HoneySuckle White turkey breast roasts (the little 3 pounders) coming in that netting.   Would it work to hang it by one of those (off of an s-hook) in the Bradley?

Would get some nice smoke exposure that way..  (and those pretty lines)

Don't know why it wouldn't.  You could invert one of the Bradley racks and probably hang 2-3 of those roasts from it.  All you have to do is be certain that the netting wouldn't tear and drop your bird.

Good idea...   I'll put another rack underneath as the 'safety net'.   (so I'm not prying it out of the v-tray)

Checked out that link. Would of never thought of smoking a bird in a shirt or bed sheet. The pic in the bottom of the thread look great.
