Drip pan,V or A

I just unpacked my new SSBS and I know I read somewhere on this forum about the drip pan and which way it goes A or V the owners manuel looks like it goes in a A shape but I am not sure ,I thought I read that it goes in a V shape. Please help on this as I an seasoning it now and want to cook some Chicken leg quarters as my frist smoke to night. Also how long do you thing I should cook these and at what temp??  Thanks ,john

I thought so,thanks Bubba,by the way, I did order the bubba pucks from your web site and paid with Paypal over the week end,those are some neat things and everyone really needs them!!
Any one know how long chicken leg quarters should take ans at what cabnit temp I should try to maintain ?
My Maverick dual temp is not here yet!!

One more thing where is the Product serial # located for the warranty card?? I looked on the back of the unit there is a couple of numbers,but none say "serial" number?

I smoke my chicken between 210 - 225 degrees F. The time depends on how many pounds of legs you are cooking. What is more important is the internal temperature of the meat. If you have a meat thermometer, you should pull them at 165 degrees F. If you do not have a themometer then pull them when the juices are clear, when pierced. Check them after about 2.5 hours; if you have 6 pounds or less. If you have more chicken than that, wait until about 3 - 3.5 hours. I would apply about 1.5 - 2 hours of smoke, using a maple, apple or pecan.

When I had to get that generator for my family member there was not serial number. I believe they told me they were no longer using them. I believe there is a scan code that you give them now.
