Many years ago when we would go to Louisiana, every year they bought a new trash can and set it inside a washtub. they had a rack they used from year to year and it sat inside the trash can. they would invert the lid. They put their food in the racks and sat in the trash can and poured charcoal in the washtub against the trashcan side and put charcoal on top in the inverted trash lid. A cajun microwave.

The closest thing I've ever done to anything like that was back in high school. We had to make a solar project out of garbage. I took an old box, cut out the top, lined it with aluminum foil, and covered the top with plastic wrap. I stuck it out in the sun with a thermometer in it and it broke the thermometer.
