I've been quite busy lately ! Sunday, I finally got my buck & Monday, my Gardenmaster Dehydrator from Cabela's arrived. I have yet to get the deer meat back , but I had Eye of Round already marinating in anticipation of the dehydrator's arrival just the same. I'm doing the same two recipes as before. With the two batches I did today, I have to admit that I didn't smoke any meat this time around .... just straight into the dehydrator. Next time I will smoke, but I just wanted to do see how the difference would be. This dehydrator is just the ticket ! The first batch only took two hours. Here's a few picks ....

This dehydrator certainly makes a big difference, & it's something that will be working overtime once my venison comes back  :)

lol, with this being my first use of a dehydrator, I too was expecting a 4 - 6 hr job. I was quite surprised when I checked the meat an hour or so into the drying. The slices were just under a 1/4" thick & they got thinned out. My second batch I took to almost three hours when I moved the heat down to 130, just to see what difference, if any would be. Had I known all this, I probably could have slept in a bit longer.....lol
