Captain Mel,

Sir, a number of years ago you granted me the privilege  of speaking with you. Your talk show on Saturdays for many of us who cannot get on the water as much as we would like was thee' bright spot of the day.

I know of no other who can bring as much to the table as you have. Your passing is a big hole in the life of those who fish.

I think I can speak for all of us when I say we hope that the Lord of Life grants you a big boat and calm seas.

I will close this note to you with the last words I spoke to you. "Your show is the greatest. Frankly, after listening to you it makes a person wonder how these other talk hosts even get funded."

God speed Sir, God speed indeed.
