cold smoking garlic

Do you use the ready dried garlic bulbs that you can get from any supermarket or is it best to grow your own and use 'fresh' garlic

You can use the store bought. I have with great success.

If you can grow your own that would be better. Fresh garlic smoked and dried in the Bradley would be far superior.

Sam's, as well as GFS (if you have one of those) carry fresh peeled garlic cloves.
I always use that when I do a bunch of roasted garlic.  Saves a lot of time.
