So my girls tonight asked me if we could try making something different. They aren't afraid to try anything. We have eaten sushi with them. But that was not what was on the menu tonight. We decided to try something different for hamburgers. We usually make them at home but not once are they ever the same, we just put what we are in the mood for in and they come out different every time. So this time i had 2 pounds of extra lean ground beef(not sure on a % since they don't advertise it that way here) and then we took half a pound of uncooked bacon and ground it and mixed it all together. I usually like to do a little pork with my beef or deer just to keep it really moist. But this was the first time with bacon and i have to say, they turned out awesome. Just a little salt and pepper with the 2.5 pounds of ground meat and onto the grill. They stayed pinkish because of the bacon but the outside got a little crispy. Every bite was like that crispy part of the bacon and once you started chewing, it was like back bacon.

I will say that these will be put in the keeper pile of recipes ;)

I don't know if anyone has done this before but i had to share this with people cause it was like bacon in every bite...no matter what angle you attacked it from.

I have never tried that with beef, but I do add bacon to my moose meat when making ground. I will have to try it with beef.

Sounds great Northern_Smoke !

Love a bacon cheeseburger with some mayo and this would give that bacon flavor in every bite!

Yah, i didn't have any game meat to use so it was just plain moocows for us tonight. I think next time i might dice up some hot peppers and add it to some of the meat just to give it a little something extra. Otherwise, they were some of the best i have made.

Never thought of grindin bacon in the beef but I do put 1/2 lb bacon with 1 lb ground deer along with 4 good sized jalapenos.

When you grind the bacon throw the penos in the grinder also, they come out just like you would dice them.

Add in some Swiss Cheese in the Burger's

thats a good idea about the peppers in the grinder. And i think i am gonna add some cheese the next time around. For the test run i just wanted to keep it simple to see what was working and what wasn't. But now i know the bacon works with it so time to start building on that :)

When you add the cheese try makin 2 thin patties and place the cheese in the middle then pinch the edges together, keeps the cheese from runnin out.

I like Blue cheese with my deer burgers.
