Figure I may as well toss this out while I'm here. I notice that if I put 5 bisquettes in only 4 will burn. It always burns one less bisquette than I put in. Is this normal or is there a trick or just not working properly? Thanks in advance for any help.

Your generator is not broken. It takes one last puck to push the final smoking one on the burner. Most of us use Bubba Pucks to get around this problem.

Remington;
Olds is correct. Just one other thing, if you put 5 bisquettes in (without the Bubba pucks), only three should burn. Two bisquettes will not be pushed onto the heating plate. Therefore you must have another puck that is left in the generator advance mechanism from your last smoke. You should check further back, because there is another puck there. If you are storing your BS outside, it is important that you remove all pucks after your smoke. If left in the generator, it may swell, or come apart due to humidity. This will interfere with the advance mechanism.
