Is there a pig shortage?

Bought some pig from Sams and WOW  :o lots of money I thought

BB Ribs $3.38/pound

Loin $2.47/pound

Pork Butt $ 1.75/pound (usually stock up when $.99/pound


Or is this normal and I just haven't bought pig from a store in a long time ? Usually buy from the packin house in bulk

Just bought BB Ribs at Costco for $2.99/lb which is pretty standard there.   I think Loins were $1.99/lb but I didn't look this week when I was there.  That seems pretty close for butts though.

Just grabbed 8lbs @$12.88/lb to stash in the freeze for fathers day. It is usually $20/lb or so around here.

They had Wild Salmon for $18.99/lb - I passed.

Try fresh Jumbo Lump Crab Meat ... recently $30-32 /lb.   :o

Not doing too many crabcakes around here right now (at least not with jumbo lump)   :(   :'(

That's OK Mike, You kinda hit the nail with a glancing blow.

Mrs. FLBentRider is in charge of the food for our chruches Vacation Bible camp. I'm helping out, since my younger kids are going and the older one in town is volunteering too.

We have 220 kids signed up. It starts in about 2.5 hours.

I already have most of the volunteers from our mens group asking me if I'm bringing the smoker. I hope I can run the BPS under the big range hood in the church kitchen for some mooink balls for the help...
