Bears in the hood

My wife and I moved into to our new house back in November so we're still getting used to the area.  Although it's still a suburban area, we are located in the foot hills of some mountains.  There is some farmland not far from us as well as some National parks.  Is about as close to living in the mountains as you can get without actually living in the mountains. 


  So, we ordered some Chinese food delivery last night.  Heard a knock on the door.  I was surprised to see my neighbor Steve standing there instead of the Chinese delivery guy.  He was really excited to show me some home video he took while on a walk about 3 blocks from where we live.  I just stumbled upon his video on you tube so I thought I'd share.  Check the description of the video.  His wife is a walk - a - holic and goes out every day.  She says she's seen countless bears already this season.  Can't wait till they start coming into the yard.  By the way, I was also surprised to have a white kid deliver our Chinese food.  It tasted like a white guy cooked it too.  Yuck.

My neighbor seen a big black bear in my back yard a couple weeks ago, I've been watching but have not seen it yet.

I think we'll be making a trip to the store for some bear spay and air horns than we'll head out to the trail to check it out.
