I thought it would be fun to start a "What's your favorite" accessory or tool to make your various smokes' more enjoyable or easier. Kinda a "What can't you live without" type of question....

For me there seems to be lots of stuff but if I could only have one for any type of smoking or grilling it would probably be my Thermapen.  No matter what I'm doing from sausage to brisket, smokin' or grillin', my Thermapen is always in my pocket and never fails to tell me how things are progressing.

So... What's your favorite accessory or tool that you can't live without?

It may seem like simple gadgets with no plugs or batteries, but my favorite kitchen accessories are a good set of adjustable measuring cups and spoons. I'm not talking about the cheap kind that leak, but good quality ones that have good seals.

I'm with HABS on keeping it simple. I have many of the fancy things too. But the one accessory I've depended on for the longest amount of time is a good sturdy pair of tongs. Sturdy enough to have confidence your not going to drop something while turning it over or transferring it to a platter and long enough to keep your fingers from getting burned. With an adult beverage nearby!  ;D

Second element, so I can peek more.
