hey everyone, new to the forum but not to Bradley smokers. I've had mine for three years and never had a problem till now,went to smoke my thanksgiving bird and the smoker quit working some time during the night. after some looking into found that my fuse holder had burnt the wiring off, well replace the fuse holder but now my cabinet won't heat up over 190..... Any thoughts

I would be investigating the cause of the burnt wiring. It sounds like a short somewhere.

sounds like the safety device installed in the back of the Bradley or the the temperature slider may have went out along  with its electronics

Hi Mike;

Welcome to the forum.

Was it the actual wiring or the fuse link that burnt out?

Is your heating element getting hot, it should be glowing red? If the element is not hot or not even heating up there could be a few problems. Here is a link to some tips that may help you work through your problem.

thanks for the tips.... i found a loose connection for the element inside the cabinet, this must have been the cause of the fuse holder burning up.

I'm going to try smoking some venison jerky today to see how she works...

thanks again the tips and links.
