I pulled a 7-bone roast out of the freezer this weekend to smoke and make shredded beef.  I have been pretty busy so not much time to smoke.   :( :( :(
This is a 3lb 7 bone beef roast that I rubbed in lysanders mesquite rub and injected with garlic butter infused with my lysanders rub.

I got my first batch of hickory pellets from TMB so I decided to throw them in the masterbuilt chamber.  These pellets are awesome.  When I finish the rest of my wood chips I'm stocking up on theses bad boys.

After 3 hours smoke and the IT reached 150 I boated in beer, beef broth and onions.

Once the IT got to 195 (3 hours smoke 3 hours cook at 200) I ftc'd for 4 hours and then put in the fridge so I could reheat in the crock pot sunday night.

Good Stuff.  All you pulled pork lovers gotta try pulled beef.  It's $$$

I have also done with a chuckie but I have found that 7-bone makes better pulled beef because of the bone-in and it has more fat content.

You sold me.  ;D

I'll be doin a 7-bone next time.

I was thinkin this weekend bout smokin up some beef, really.

Try it!  And let me know how it turn out.  I always have done the 7-bone and not boated, but it came out dry, so I would definitely recommend boating.  I also reheat in the juices saved from the boating process.  Good Luck!

Snelly, I'll trade you a big box of pellets for one of those 7-bone roasts!  I've never seen one around here..

STC - Seven bone is simply a cut of chuck across the shoulder blade bone (which looks vaguely like a "7"). You can use chuck steak or roast without paying overnight shipping.

Wait til you see them in the SRG with a Tommy RingTM.   They are the only pellets I use and these are the same ones I used in my last comp.
