Microsoft patents....They want to patent emoticons next?  Say it ain't so...I'm told they've patented the method of creating them...

The way I read it, it looks as if they have found a new way to deliver emoticons that will not slow down the delivery of e-mail or text messages. I looks like instead of sending the actual emoticon in the message, or a link to the emoticon; you insert a alphanumeric code. When the receiver opens the message the alphanumeric code then creates the emoticon. It also looks like Microsoft has created software for a user to make their own emoticon from any graphics. But again, as I was reading it, 90% of it sounded like "gobbly goop"[:(]
