Hi Guys,

After researching all the electric smokers on the market and realizing I still had $150 worth of Cabela's gift cards laying around, I decided to buy a Bradley Electric Smoker or OBS smoker as you guys have termed it (still getting used to all the acronyms you guys use...lol).  Anyway, I haven't purchased the smoker yet but am leaving in a little bit to do so.  After my research, I've already purchased online the Bubba Pucks, additional heating element to install and the Maverick Remote ET-73 thermometer (probably won't receive these until after Christmas though).  I also want to set the smoker up with a blower but can't find any information on the type or setup.  What, Where, how much did it cost and how do u install the blower?  In addition, I may purchase the PID system by Auber as well and would like to know the preference of either 1 or 2 probes by most of you "fans" using the system.  Probably will be a while before I make that purchase because of the cost but understand the importance of it (I'll need help with that when the time comes).  Anyway, would like suggestions on the blower and any tips for my 1st smoke without any of the gadgets I've purchased thus far.....basically I'm unloading the smoker...assembling it....and gonna smoke a couple of pork butts over this weekend....probably 3 at around 5-6#s per butt....Thanks and have a Merry Christmas.

Welcome!  Sounds like you have done your research and have a good plan.  You're going to love it!

You might want to spend some time on the companion recipe site.  Check out the FAQ's.  As for the "blower" I am guessing you mean a circulation fan.  On the recipe site there is a thread in the section on Bradley Accessories - User Modifications that covers it well, here.   A kit is available here.

As for PID, I love the Auber dual probe.

I like animals, they taste good!

I would go with the dual probe. If you have the ability to return the Maverick I would and get the newer Et732 model. I have the 73 and had to make a mod of adding an antenna to get good range and uninterrupted signals. The newer version includes an antenna and I believe an alarm to signal if the signal is lost.
