One of the company's that I do contract work has offered me a full time position in the Birmingham area.  Being my own boss for so many years and thinking about going to work for a company has my head hurting.  However there is something good about having a steady paycheck and not worrying about where the next piece of work will come from and that does have appeal.

I know that Gus, TMB and TestRocket live a bit north of Birmingham.  Anyone have any good things to say about Birmingham or even bad things to say.  Florida does not have a State income tax and AL does so that is something to consider.

OH my and then there is the cold and snow that I have to consider.  I think I will start drinking.   ;D

Enough ain't enough and too much is just about right.

Not fond of Birmingham myself, but there are some communities on the outskirts with some really friendly folk.

If you make the move, come on up to Paducah in September!   Grab Caneyscud on the way up...   It'd be a 5 hour trip, depending on how heavy your foot is.

Hal, KyNola and myself will be there making a mess, and generally getting into trouble..   8)

I've only driven through Birmingham a hundred or more times but have never lived there! I don't like the city myself but my daughter did live in Hoover (just south) and it was a nice area. As far as snow this year has been very unusual and I've found it best to just stay home that way my car and truck are safe.
