Got a letter in the mail, opened it up and it was this.


Of course when I first opened it up I had to quickly shut the blinds and see if the street was filled with DEA agents.
But a closer look revealed that it was dehydrated sourdough starter from OU812 (thanks Curt).

Is that the Oregon Trail sourdough? It's a very good starter. Mine took about 6 weeks to fully develop it's own flavor. It's does not have the punch of a S.F. sourdough, but is quite easy to take care of.

That IS a very active starter and this time of year is the best to mature a starter,
leave your windows open.  ;)

Yes that is the Oregon Trail sourdough, very tasty.

You should have seen the looks I got from the dude at the post office when he weighed it for the postage, thats 1 oz of starter.  ::)
