Salt - info for the connoseur...

Good find...thanks for the link.

Got an idea to try.
1. Dry the salt
2. Mix fresh Rosemary  in boiling water.
3. Add dried salt.
4. Put into glass wine bottle.
5. Age a few months / weeks ?
6. Dry this mixture to remove liquid (make sure that salt is dry)
7. Smoke in BS over oak and add secondary water dish to smoker. Highest heat setting.  

If Salt is taken down to the level of moisture that is found in dried wood (10%) I can see the salts takeing up the moist smoke flavor. The Rosemary is just a kicker.

Thanks for link, FB!! Salt is something to seriously consider for ALL intake, for health reasons as well as taste. For almost 10 years, since first discovering 'RealSalt' in a Green River, UT restaurant, I've been using this type from Utah mines as a "treat", hording it and using it only for special occasions, thinking I could only get it from a Utah retailer. [:p][:p]
Since my "cardiac event"[xx(][xx(], I did more research on the subject of salt and found that not only is my favorite natural salt a healthy neccessity, (used in moderation), but it is also available via the Internet here on the outer edge of the Earth. Hey Kummok!  That's the brand I ran across too - I think "real salt" has their own website that you can order from - I did and the response was great....mined in Utah - to funny - my table salt also!!  Found it in Minnesota at a fruit/veggie stand of all places!!

I use Kosher Salt for most things but I do have a container of Fleur de Sel for special occasions.  Mainly when I want to add salt while I'm eating and not during the cooking process.  Great stuff!  That and white pepper.
