Mr. & Mrs. FLBR and two of their children passed through Paducah today so Jan and I met them at Starne's for lunch.  Really enjoyed meeting them and getting to get acquainted over a sandwich at Starne's.     Before they left, Randy snagged a case of Starne's Sauce! 8)

They are now on their way to St. Louis where they will meet up with STC tomorrow.

Randy, Lauren, Jillian and Lance; it was great to meet you.  Have a continued safe journey.

Oh man, wish I was there!  Half rack of ribs with brisket along with sweet potato fries and deep fried corn on the cob!  Mmmmmmmm

Just get there early!

G9, I am ashamed to tell you that I am not familiar with Brescia at all.  The bad part is Owensboro is only a couple hours away.  When  Fall comes around Jan and I are going to tour Kentucky, the State I have essentially lived in all my life.  Folks take so much for granted in the area that they live.

Every drop of Bourbon is made in KY, within maybe 3 hours of us.  Never toured the distilleries.  Solving all that real soon.

Larry, it was great meeting you and Jan.

My kids did not manage to destroy anything in a Paducah institution... this is a good thing.

The ride to St Louis was uneventful (this is a good thing). That sweet corn was the bees-knees. I think I ate 4 ears.

We're looking forward to Saturday, gotta go pick up a rental car in the morning, and the heat wave is here.

They have a jumping pillow http://www.jumpingpillowsusa.com/ at this campground. We could now keep the kids off it.

;D ;D Unless you have been to Starne's you can't appreciate the humor to this post by Hal.  Starne's is a concrete block building with a counter that seats maybe 20 people.  That's it.  If all seats are taken you stand around the wall waiting for someone to vacate the stool in front of you.  STC has some pics of it somewhere.

Kinda figured Hal was leading us down the one way road the "wrong" direction.  :o  :D
Thanks for clearing that up KyNola.  ;)
