I think I would use an anti-bacterial dish soap and warm water, rinse with hot.

When i recieved my 5 # stuffer from Lem it was a little Greasy but they smeared silicone lube all over the O-ring and that took forever to get off. I just soon not eat Silicone, I use Vegtable oil on my o ring before I start to stuff, may not be the right way but thats what I do.

Plus the grease they use in them(mine anyway) is all food grade, so you can pretty much eat it  ;D. I just use regular dish soap an screaming hot water as well.
