fellow smokers , i have been wondering how some or most of you secure you smoker to its stand for smoking outside during inclement weather? I hear of others talk about a four foot drop and a sudden stop. so I'm looking for ways to minimize this from happening! your help is allways appreciated.

Mine sits on the floor of my deck when smoking. Nowhere for it to fall.

Mine sites in my garage during bad weather.  In fact it had only been outside once.

Normally I keep my OBS on the patio table unless I will not be smoking for several weeks then it goes into the garage.  If a hurricane is coming then it will live in the garage.  I have a screened in back patio which keeps the bugs and flys out.  I will normally cover the OBS with a patio chair cover if it is raining and I am not smoking.  If I am smoking and a shower comes in with wind from the north (will blow into the patio) I will put up a big golf umbrella and prop it up facing north to keep the rain off.

That's the same thing I do. On the patio table. Unfortunately, my patio is not covered.

Has any body fastened their bradly down by the sides or the bottom for more of a custom look?

If you took 4 L brackets you could probably put a small screw in each corner of the cabinet and a  couple in each to the deck or whatever you want to attach it to.

I'm one of those that have had their Bradley take a 4' and about a 6' drop. I should have learned by now, but I still haven't fasten mine down.

If wind is not a concern then the brackets would be a secure method. I would be concerned about using brackets at the bottom, during high winds; because the Bradley is a lot taller than it's base. A good wind storm may just rip the screws out of the thin sheet metal.

That was the one of the answers i was thinking about. I just thought that with all the experts here we should be able to come up with some way of mounting these to keep them safe during some freak wind storm. I hate the thought of a smoker falling over and a dog running away with a choice meal.

Mine sits on my deck and has gone through some strong wind storms. The time it took a 6' fall, was when the wind blew the cart across the deck (I didn't lock the wheels), and when the cart hit the railing the Bradley tipped over the rail.

I guess I should have asked where your smoker sits when you are smoking. Do you put it on a cabinet or table or does it sit on the deck? If it sits on the deck, how a bout a couple of eye hooks and one of those cinch strap tiedowns like we use on motorcycles? If it sits on a table or cabinet then you can only make it as secure as those are. How about a shelf attached to the side of the house and then cinch strap it to that.
