My stuffer is finally out of the box!

Briefly..   ;D

One of the guys at work wants to borrow it for a while.   He shot a smallish deer a couple weeks ago, and wants to try to do the stick/summer sausage processing himself.  (he's got my grinder as well)

I found a bag of Cure #1 in that box as well.  I think I'll toss it..    It's been exposed to < 20° and > 120° temps. :o

It's just sodium and stuff. I'd keep it.

I agree with FLBentRider,
It is after all mostly salt and a very small amount of sodium nitrite. If I think like you here in the Sub Tropics I would have to toss all my curing salts away on a monthly basis. If it was packed well, it is OK to use. That's my opinion and I am sticking by it.

The package was torn, so I erred on the side of caution and tossed it.   I have a small mason jar of pink salt hiding in the kitchen anyway.   ;)
