This has been a New Years Day tradition in our family for years.
Smoked pork shoulder, this is a butt cut.  Greens with salt pork, black eyed peas, and corn bread.

My Wife made pumpkin pie with streusel topping with whipped cream.

Good Luck and Happy New Year to everyone.

Well that looks great to me. My southern Kentucky roots are showing also. I was ready to lick the screen. Not a New years thing here but a regular meal. Love beans and pork or bacon of any sort. Also the pork butt and Pumpkin Pie. But I am one of the few hillbilly's that don't like corn Bread! But call me next time and I'll make due. LOL

Yepper's

that was the meal at my house as well......   Throwed some smoked ham hock in the greens and salt pork in the peas.
Splash the greens with some hot pepper vinegar and good to go.

Man I am getting hungry thinking about it.  Might have to go warm up leftovers.

Looks a lot like my house except for ham and pecan pie instead of pork butt and pumpkin.  And you use fancier plates (for 50 people I used paper).  Nice feed.
