Nice, what you making it out of ? I was going to get my son to make one out of cherry or maple, or what about a synthetic like the stuff they make cutting boards out of.

This was some 1" thick white plastic that they make Bathroom partitions out of ( it is new) . It came with some new partitions and the company uses it as a packing material to stack different sizes and take up the space. I'm thinking of making the dados length wise on the next one and then width wise on the next so when you stack them it will kind of strengthen them from bending. I plan on clamping them down with a big wooden clamp. Thanks for the salt treatment recomendation Rick, will do!!

It must be at the Everegreen State Fairgrounds if it's in Monroe.
Give a man a beer and he'll waste a day.
Teach him how to brew and he'll waste a lifetime.

Is that plastic food grade??  Exposure to plasticizers and leached monomers can be a b**ch.

Good question, dunno :-\  you think covering it with plastic wrap before contact to the sausage would suffice or just bag the whole idea all together? I was wondering about this myself.

Yes use plastic wrap but use the good stuff like you get from sams, costoco, and such. Store bought saran wrap can have a funny smell to it.

Thanks Rick, little research determined it is class B polyethylene, looks like alot of food containers use it but still need to research more.
