I'm about to do some ribs after reading the various recipes and techniques.  I have a question as a newbie...  Do you put a drip pan on the bottom rack to catch the juices?  The only dip pan I see funnels it into the bowl that catches the burnt biscuits.
The smoker instructions say not to cover the racks with foil or I might damage the smoker.

Some obvious answers must be out there.  Anybody help?

Tks

Welcome!

The drip tray channels the juices into the same bowl that catches the spent pucks.

Enjoy your ribs. Lookin' forward to the pix.

You can place a pan on the bottom rack to catch the drippings should you choose to do so.  Just make sure there is space around all sides of the pan to allow the smoke and heat to rise.  Complete coverage of a rack by foil or a pan can result in the heat getting trapped underneath, increasing the chance for a fire.

On a side note, many people have replaced that small, round water bowl with a 9x13 disposable pan.  Holds more spent pucks and the water won't evaporate as quickly.

Ditto on the above two posts.
