I just made my first batch of jerky and it came out pretty good but the meat dropped a lot of stuff on the drip pan and it is crusted on the pan and hard to get off. What can I do to clean it off and prevent it from sticking so bad mext time? It also got a few dribbles on the heat element reflector. Do I need to clean it real good or will it burn of next time? I did scrape the bigger drips and sucked them out with a vacuum.

This stuff really baked on on the side next to the heat element. I guess I'll soak for a day and see if it will break loose.

I use a putty knife and a water hose. On the drip pan. ;D

a good soak and it should come off fairly easy. Also spray your v-tray with pam before you smoke and clean up will be way easier.
I like to walk threw life on the path of least resistance. But sometimes the path needs a good kick in the ass.

My method of clean up for the V-tray is to soak it for at least an hour, then use a magic eraser on it- works great!
Life is short, eat the dessert first!
