Hello from Ottawa

Hi All,
Just wanted to introduce myself. After 8 years of wanting a smoker and drooling over the smell whenever I would pass one, I finally bit the bullet and put up the cash for a BDS 4-rack. I found it at Le Baron here in Ottawa at a price that even beat Cnd Tire's sale price, so I pulled the trigger this week.

I seasoned the smoker Thursday night, and today cold-smoked a couple of ribs steaks that will hit the grill in about an hour.

I hunt and fish so I'm hoping to put the smoker to good use, real soon.

I've been reading this forum for a few weeks now, and am looking forward to becoming an active member of this community.

I cold smoked a couple of rib steaks yesterday but through some bad luck, I will only get to grill them for supper tonight (something to look forward to on a Monday at least).

I also went out last night and got Lawry's seasoned salt and nice rack of side ribs. I'm hitting Bulk Barn at lunch to get the rest of the ingredients for Jan's rub...

Wednesday I have the day off, so I'm smokin' some ribs! I can't tell you how lame I feel for being so excited. I'll even post some pics of my first real smoke.
