BBQ on the River starts off with a BANG, literally!!

BBQ on the River Festival in Paducah KY "officially" begins today.  Last night some of the teams got a running start plus they have a concert to pre-tune for the 3 day Festival.  Around 6:30 last night a pretty nasty thunderstorm ripped through this area and sent a bunch of the tents and equipment flying.  Several of them were destroyed but the good news is no one got hurt and all of the teams pitched in and got the teams that were effected up and running again.  Had rain throughout the night and is still raining lightly this morning.  Supposed to clear out by noon, just in time for the Festival to get underway. I'll bet it was not fun trying to maintain temps in those big pits last night.

Hickory smoke blankets downtown Paducah for the next 3 days.  Come on down!
