I will be trying this as soon as I get me some dead deer!
Bacon is the Crack Cocaine of the Food World.

Be careful about calling yourself and EXPERT! An ex is a has-been, and a spurt is a drip under pressure!

Looks great Don, Wasn't the title to this thread  "Dead Deer Jerky" Yesterday or have I really gone nuts?

I think there was a venison jerky thread started at the same time Aaron  ;) ;)

Keymaster

Hmmm, I was wondering how you were going to slice that into jerky is why I remember it saying jerky. I guess the mind just see's what it wants to sometimes. Which can be a good thing ;D

OU812

Is it done yet Is it done yet Is it done yet Is it done yet  ;D

devo

OK lets carry this on, seems OU812 is HUNGRY  ;D

Slicing day or should I say morning

First one sliced

Second one sliced

All three sliced up

Frying some up, very little grease. Some people warned me not to add the pork fat as it's to much fat..........seems I should have added more  :o

And yes the taste test was WOW this is good dead deer  ;D

Time to vac pack and weigh it out into 1 lbs. packages. I used the to-go lids shiny side up to support the bacon. Makes for easy packaging into the vac. bags.

Got 11 1\2 lbs. vac. packed

JZ

Nice job. ;D I want to try this but would have to use dead cow instead of dead deer since I don't have any DD. ;D

Really like that slicer .... looks like a commercial one.

OU812

OH YA!!

That stuff is even better on the grill,,,,,,,,,,,,,,all them sugars wont burn like in the pan  ;)

Just dont try to make it crispy,,,,,,,,,,,it will turn into a piece of charred card board  ;D
