I'm getting ready to order a dual probe Auber PID.  Just had one quick question for those of you that already use one.  Can I use it without hooking up the meat probe (ie, just monitor the cabinet temp.)?  Thanks.

You still have to plug it into the unit but don't have to pig the probe on any product.

No you don't Mike, just set it for time and you don't get the error of it not being there

You can also use the second probe to verify the first probe is correct. Sometimes the first probe gets crusty and you tend to forget about it and the readings fluctuate
