With roasters, as with many other things, size counts.  I encourage you to get a 22 quart roaster, rather than an 18 quart roaster.  You'll be able to cook bigger sausages and more sausages in a 22 quart roaster.

22 quart Hamilton Beach is on the way from Amazon.
Should be here Tuesday. 
18 and 22 both have advantages.  I can store it in the basement easily, so I took pmmpete's advise, and went big.
