We live literally on the border to France, specifically Alsace.  About this time every year a small village named Hagenthal-le-Haut has a four day food fest.  We went for a couple of hours over lunchtime and here are some snapshots.  Needless to say one ends up stuffed to the gills with all the free samples.  I didn't do any wine tasting because ya never know when you might run into a Gendarme on the road.  Wife said there was some very nice tipple-

Overview of what some of the area looked like -

Some of what was on offer. -

This is some dried beef filet.  White stuff is mold

Speck

This loaf of bread (from wood fired oven) is over a meter long

This guy would carve off nice hunks to hand out as you passed by.  Delicious ham

Cheese from raw goats milk

Various salami.  Some with goat cheese, Roquefort.  Some wild pig, some from stag meat.

Dried duck breasts

Salami on left from wild pig.  On right from regular piggy

Lonzo

Self explanatory

Sausage on left with Espelette peppers on right is a mutton salami with a sheep milk cheese

Lonza

Duck sausage on left.  Regular pig on right

With goat cheese on left and blue cheese on right

I can see why you left stuffed to the gills. Like nepas ask could you translate some of the sausages for us? I see somethat are familiar but not all.

My goodness your picture series brings back wonderful memories of France.  From the foie gras, to the saucisson and cheese, I could almost taste the essence of France in your post.
