Maverick, Smoker temp probe

Is there an optimum place in the Bradly to place the smoker temp probe, for the best readings?? ::) ::)

Many on this forum say to put the probe close to the food you are smoking. Although it can be problematic when smoking on multiple racks, then I try for the middle of the smoker, being careful not to let dripping's fall on the probe.
