When you get into this matter, the number of people crossing is huge. Now give this a little thought. Seeing how it is so easy to get here, just what do you think of our Home Land Security now?

You think that just maybe by chance that terrorist cells have figure out they don't need to worry about Air Port Security?

Yes I get hot when I see illegals standing on our flag, but that is not what worries me. Furthermore, what worries me does not seem to worry many of our Leaders. They seem more interested in blowing up a country and then spend many billions of dollars (that we borrow each month) fixin' that country back up.

I don't worry about my Mother, wife or myself as more of our lives has passed then is left to live. I do worry about my granddaughter who is now 2 and what kind of country she will have to live in. I wonder if it will glow in the dark...

Gents, I'm not Chicken Little crying the sky is falling. The possibilities are very real now. We need to seal our boarders. Allowing the honest in and keeping the rest out.

If we don't then one day I firmly believe the evening sky will glow.

In Rosarito, 3 Police Officers, 1 Civilian Found Decapitated

San Diego -- Mexican authorities discovered the decapitated bodies of three police officers and another man Wednesday near an empty lot in the seaside town of Rosarito Beach, about 15 miles south of the border.

The officers had gone missing Tuesday after responding to a report of a kidnapping. Witnesses said they were intercepted by about 100 heavily armed, masked men dressed as Mexican federal agents, according to a spokesman for the Baja California state attorney general's office.

The men's bodies showed signs of being tortured. Their heads were found several miles away in Tijuana. Authorities said the men were the victims of an organized crime hit, the latest in a string of killings or attempted killings of law enforcement officials in Baja California.

Rosarito Beach, a popular weekend destination for Southern Californians, is also a heavily contested transshipment point for drug traffickers.

One of the victims, Benjamin Fabian Ventura, was the bodyguard of Rosarito Beach's former police chief, Carlos Bowser Miret, who was killed in an ambush slaying last year.

The other dead police officers were Jesus Hernandez Ballesteros and Ismael Arellano Torres. The fourth man was not identified.

Interestingly, this situation in the US actually attracts quite a lot of debate on this side of the pond, many people just don't feel it is worth the hassle holidaying in your wonderful country any more due to the delays in actually trying to get in and the Mexico/US border situation is often cited as how farcical the situation is.

Habanero Smoker

There was a book released yesterday. I can't recall the title, but the author was being interviewed on NPR. He is the one that released the book that exposes the plot to release nerve gas in the New York subway system. It is felt that the attack was called off because Al-Qaida wants the next attack within our borders to have more casualties then 9/11

The book outline how weak not only our borders are, both the Mexican and Canadian; but goes on to state how weak our ports and other entries into the U.S. He states that his information was obtained from high ranking officials, and career employees in Homeland Security. The host (I believe it was Terry Gross; "Fresh Air"); ended the interview by asking the author; "With all your knowledge of Homeland Security weaknesses, do you feel that make you a target (of being kidnapped) by a terrorist organization?" He quickly implied that all he knew was in the book. I would have said the same thing.

Followup
The book is:
"Inside the War on Terror: 'The One Percent Doctrine'"; Author Ron Suskind's new book, The One Percent Doctrine, is an investigation into the guarded world of anti-terrorism policy. He also reveals that al-Qaida was planning an attack on the New York City subway system.
