Hi mp5241971;

Welcome to the forum.

The PID that is often mentioned on this forum is made by Auber Instruments. It is a device that can control the cabinet temperature of your Bradley to within +/-2°F.

Welcome to the Forum.  A PID can be beneficial if you are going to be using your Bradley to smoke fresh sausage or certain fish recipes that require tight temp controls.  If you are going to be using your Bradley for things such as ribs, butts, poultry, briskets etc a PID is not essential.

Prior to making a decision about a PID I would suggest 2 things.  The first is to use your Bradley "as is" for a while to get used to using it, what it can and can't do.  Secondly, think about for what you will be using your Bradley.

If you decide to get into sausage making later, you can always add a PID to your equipment.

In the mean time, feel free to ask as many questions as you might have.  We are here to help you have a great time with your Bradley.
